Mila Kunis Bio

Mila Kunis was born Milena Kunis in Chernivtsi in Ukraine on the 14th of August 1983. Kunis immigrated with her parents Elvira Kunis and Mark Kunis to the United States at seven years old. They eventually moved to Los Angeles. The Kunis family only had $250 to their name when they moved to their new home. Kunis' parents gave up their careers to relocate and set out to provide their children a better life. Mark, a former mechanical engineer, soon was employed as a taxi driver, while Elvira, who had taught Physics in Ukraine, wound up running an establishment for pharmacy. Kunis said, "I didn’t understand the culture" when he first arrived in the United States. "I didn't understand the people. I was not conversant in the language. My essay to get in college began with this sentence: "Imagine being blinded and deaf by 7 years old." That's how it felt to move to the States. But I got over it fairly quickly." Milena Markovna Kunis is the daughter of Mark Kunis in Chernivtsi (Ukraine) and Elvira. She has a brother who is older. Her mother is a physics teacher, and her father owns an pharmacy. His father is mechanical engineer by profession. She is Jewish and her family moved to Los Angeles at the age of seven. Rosewood Elementary School was her first school. She began acting lessons at the age of nine. She auditioned for a few commercials and then began her career on television in her first role on 'Days of Our Lives' in 1994.She starred in small roles as a child actor on 'Honey, We Shrunk Ourselves and 'Santa with a Muscle and the Angelina Jolie film "Gia". In 1998, she was cast as Jackie Burkhart in the hit sitcom "That '70s Show". She received praise for her performance and she was later asked to lend her voice for the role in 'Family Guy' as Meg Griffin.
