Bonnie Wright

Bonnie Francesca Wright was born 17 February 1991. She is an actor, model and director from England. She is most famous for her role as Ginny Weasley in the Harry Potter film series.Born in London, Wright made her professional acting debut in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001), portraying the role for 10 years, before appearing in the final film, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 2 (2011). After the film, Wright appeared in a variety of independent films including Before I Sleep (2013), The Sea (2013), and After the Dark (2014) which were met with mixed reviews. In 2013, she made her stage debut in Peter Ustinov’s The Moment of Truth at the Southwark Playhouse. She also obtained a bachelor's degree in filmmaking at the University of the Arts London. Her company was later established as her own production company, BonBonLumiere, and began making short films. Her first film she directed was which was a coming-of-age drama Separate We Come and Separate We Go (2012). It was released at the Cannes Film Festival to great public acclaim. She also directed Know Thyself (2016), starring Christian Coulson, and Sextant (2016) both of which featured landscape and emotion as the main themes. Wright's three-part series, Phone Calls, premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2017. The film was released in Medusa's Ankles (2018) starring Kerry Fox and Jason Isaacs and is inspired by A. S. Byatt's The Matisse Stories. She also created music videos for Scarlett Johansson, Pete Yorn and Sophie Lowe. Wright has been a spokesperson for Greenpeace and Lumos, and has been acknowledged for her environmental advocacy.
