Rosamund Pike

In 1979, in London, England, actress Rosamund Mary Elizabeth Pike is the sole child of a classically trained violinist's mother, Caroline (Friend), and an opera father of a singer, Julian Pike. Both parents were extremely hard-working and she traveled extensively throughout Europe during her childhood. Pike was a student at the Badminton School in Bristol, England and began acting at the National Youth Theatre. When she was in a National Youth Theatre production of "Romeo and Juliet", she was first spotted and signed by an agent. However, she continued her education at Wadham College, Oxford, where she read English Literature, eventually graduating with an upper second grade honors degree.Pike appeared in a number of UK television shows that included Wives and Daughters (1999) and then made her movie debut as the stunning beauty "Miranda Frost" in the James Bond film, Die Another Day (2002); when the film was released it was released at just 23. Her first film was a big-budget action flick. However, her subsequent film work was mostly in independent films, such as Promised Land (2004) and The Libertine (2004). The Libertine won her the award for Best Supporting Actress award at The British Independent Film Awards. Pride & Prejudice (2005) included Pike as one of the Bennet girls. After a brief time in Hollywood, Doom (2005) and Fracture (2006) and Fracture (2006), she returned to film, delivering outstanding performances in three of the smaller films. She also appeared in Johnny English Reborn (2011) and the sci-fi drama Wrath of the Titans (2012). Alongside Tom Cruise as her female character in Jack Reacher (2012), she returned to action films.
