Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and former instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. Burrell hosts Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and also serves as the host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond hair and an ebullient appearance, shares tips on how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also a part of many of the best restaurants in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy and competed on the Food Network's Iron Chef America. Burrell was born in New York State's Upstate, began to develop a passion for cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied to earn an English degree as well as a communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. I enjoyed every moment during my time in The Culinary Institute of America she states. I couldn't seem to get enough enjoyment from it. Following graduation, Chef Burrell went on to spend one year in Italy taking classes at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners while working at La Taverna del Lupo in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 a one-Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Burrell gained a greater knowledge of Italian culture and cuisine throughout her time in Italy that has informed the way she cooks. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation and was a part of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists children with obstacles. as a speaker, guest and mentor, she travels around the United States to discuss her culinary passion and profession. Anne always felt fortunate that she could share the passion of her life, cooking with others.
